Dummy Reservation Block
Needs verification. Doc not finalized
Dummy Reservation blocks are a way to take an HOURCAR Out of Service and block it from being reserved by a member. This will create a hub based block on the make and model chosen, and is not vehicle specific.
Fleet will be unable to make a service trip on the car if it is on a Dummy Reservation just as they are unable to make a service trip over a member's trip.
Examples of When to Use
- Blocking an alternate hub for a member move
- Blocking after ongoing late return
- Hub specific issues that do not need fleet assistance
Dummy Reservation Block
Follow instructions on Vulog Documentation on Creating a Booking with the following details:
-
Create the reservation for a Dummy Block account - these are dummy1@hourcar.org through dummy20@hourcar.org.
- It is helpful to check which blocks are in use to pick an account not being used.
-
Write a comment in the "Note" section on why the block was created.
-
If there is more than one make and model at the same hub and it is crucial that a specific vehicle is blocked, be sure to pre-allocate the correct vehicle to the reservation after creation.
Remember: Fleet Can't Access
Fleet will be unable to access the car if it's on a Dummy Block. If fleet needs to access the car at any point, delete the Dummy Block and create a Scheduled Maintenance Block.
