Apps and Services

Term What does it mean? How bad is the problem? Who to notify?
PROD, PRO Production - the system members use. Real cars, real money. Highest priority if there’s an issue. Anything in PROD could potentially affect members and operations. Notify IT, who will assess the impact and help determine next steps for notifying other teams. May require member communication.
STA, STAG Staging - the test environment Non-urgent. This is the test system, so it usually means app or vehicle tests won't work until the issue is fixed. Low impact Really only a problem for IT. No member communications needed.
FAA Fleet admin app Only urgent for Fleet / IT. This issue will likely be an administrative and logistics issue since fleet may not be able to access cars via app until problem is fixed. Notify IT and Fleet. No member communications needed.
REG Registration - where new members apply Variable urgency. Major issues might mean new members may not be able to apply. Notify IT, who will assess the impact and determine steps for notifying MS and potential new members.
SRV Server - the servers store, send, and receive data Variable urgency. Minor issues will cause the app & back office to be slow. Major issues usually cause outages, vehicle communication issues, etc. Notify IT, who will assess the impact and help determine next steps for notifying other teams. Possible member communication needed.
End-User App, OA, OneApp The app members use to reserve cars. Variable urgency. Could be a minor issue that requires reinstalling; or could render the entire service unusable. Notify IT first, who will assess the impact and help determine next steps. Possible member communication needed.
FO Front office - desktop reservation site for members Medium impact: this will mostly inconvenience users who don't have smartphones. Notify IT and MS. May require communication with select members.
BO Back office, the site we use to run the service. Variable urgency. Minor issues may cause slowness or lag. Major issues could result in outages, billing issues, etc. Notify IT who will help determine impact and next steps. May require member communication.
BBO Business back office, the site MS uses to maintain business accounts Medium impact, mostly on MS processing / maintaining business accounts Notify IT and MS. May require communication with business users.

These terms can be combined, which will help indicate the urgency of the issue. For example:

Term Definition
STAG BO Staging back office = low impact because STAG (test system)
PROD BO Production front office = medium impact, notify IT and MS because this impacts non-smartphone members.
STAG FAA Staging fleet admin app = low impact, notify IT and Fleet because STAG + fleet admin app.
PROD SRV Production servers = could be nothing, could be catastrophic. Notify IT (Gunnar) ASAP.

Technology

Term Definition
CKH Card / Key Holder - The in-vehicle device that holds keys and charging / gas payment cards.
FF Free-floating service - one-way trips (Evie)
SB Station-based service - round-trip reservations (HOURCAR)
HZ Home Zone - the service area where a member is allowed to start and end an Evie trip
